T. Hello, welcome to the Pinnacle Writing blog. Please tell us about yourself.
L. I am a native Californian who loves reading, writing, movies, and anything else related to the arts. Writing is something I’ve thought about all my life, so the completion of my first novel, In Search of Lucy, is truly satisfying. I hold a B.A. degree in Journalism and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. My most enjoyable moments are spent with my family, traveling, spending time outdoors, or simply laughing and being together. T. When did you start writing?
L. I would say officially I started about one year ago. In Search of Lucy took me about 9-10 months to write and it has been out there for about 6 weeks. I did some writing when I worked in PR and there were times when I tried my hand at poetry and even a screenplay, but this book is my real introduction.
T. Please tell us about your current book; genre and blurb.
L. General fiction: Drama
T. What are your writing habits? Are you an outliner or do you write “by the seat of your pants?
L. I didn’t use an outline, but I did have the whole story basically planned out in my head first. I knew where I wanted the story to go. I don’t like to sit at the computer and try to figure out what I’m going to write. I need to be relaxed and in a different environment to work out each scene before I head to the computer.
T. What are your ideas about the future of digital publishing?
L. I have to say it is both exciting and scary. It will bring out a lot of talent from people who maybe thought previously it was too hard to publish. On the other hand, I feel like the market is already getting saturated with people who think they can throw something together and make some quick money.
T. Anything else to share?
L. I really hope people will give my book a chance. I’m a new author with a new story, but I think it is one that most people can relate to. I think they’ll find the characters very endearing and realistic, and feel very connected to what’s happening to them in the story.
T. Thank you for visiting.
